Terms of Service
Last updated: May 2026
Thanks for using Piano Pals. These terms cover the agreement between you and Blue Quanta, LLC ("we", "us") for the Piano Pals app and related services. By using the app you agree to these terms — if you don't, please don't use the app.
Who can use Piano Pals
Piano Pals is for parents and guardians managing piano practice for children. You must be 18 or older to create an account. Children may use the app on a device owned by a parent or guardian, but the account belongs to the adult.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials and your Practice Mode PIN private. You're responsible for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else is using it.
What you can do with the app
Use it for personal, non-commercial piano practice and family coordination. Don't try to reverse-engineer it, scrape it, abuse our APIs, run automated load against it, or use it to harass other users. Don't upload content that infringes copyright or violates the law.
AI-generated content
Practice quests and weekly recaps are generated by Claude AI from the lesson notes and practice data you've entered. AI output can be wrong, oddly worded, or occasionally off-base — treat it as a helpful starting point, not authoritative musical instruction. Use your judgment (and your teacher's).
Your content
You own the lesson notes, piece names, and other content you create in the app. By using Piano Pals you grant us a limited license to store, display, and process that content as needed to operate the service (e.g., showing your notes to a co-parent you've invited, sending notes to Anthropic to generate a quest). We don't sell or license your content to anyone else.
Sharing with co-parents
When you invite another parent to a child's profile, that parent gains access to all data on that child (pieces, notes, quests, progress). You can revoke access from the Sharing screen at any time. Co-parents you've invited see content created by both of you.
Service availability
We try to keep Piano Pals working well, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may add, remove, or change features without notice. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
No warranties
The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Your use of the app is at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Blue Quanta and its contributors aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim — which, since the app is currently free, means $0.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms occasionally. If a change is material we'll surface a notice in the app. Continuing to use Piano Pals after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in San Francisco County, California.
